Job Overview

As a Junior Orbital Analyst at Spaceflux, you will support the company’s efforts in orbit determination, satellite tracking, and space situational awareness using Spaceflux’s innovative optical sensor data. You will work closely with senior analysts, software engineers, and customers to deliver high-quality insights that enhance space operations and promote the sustainable use of Earth’s orbit..

Responsibilities

  • Assist in orbit determination tasks using Spaceflux’s sensor data and contribute to the maintenance of the company’s orbital catalogue.
  • Support the analysis of collision risks and conjunction assessments for clients under the guidance of senior analysts.
  • Prepare initial reports and briefings on satellite behaviour, orbital anomalies, and post-event analyses.
  • Collaborate with the software engineering team to test and validate enhancements to SSA analytical tools.
  • Conduct literature reviews and stay updated on developments in orbital dynamics and space domain awareness.
  • Participate in client meetings and help draft technical communications regarding orbital events and collision risk assessments.
  • Contribute to the development of internal documentation, training materials, and standard operating procedures.
  • Attend industry webinars and conferences to build knowledge of best practices and space safety standards..

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Astrophysics, or a related field with strong academic emphasis on orbital mechanics.
  • 0–2 years of professional or academic experience in space situational awareness, astrodynamics, or related areas.
  • Familiarity with orbit determination principles and software tools such as OREKIT, GMAT, or similar platforms (prior professional experience not mandatory).
  • Basic programming skills in Python (or willingness to learn quickly).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen interest in satellite operations and space safety.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, especially for technical topics.
  • Motivation to learn rapidly and grow within a dynamic, innovative environment
